Frequently asked questions

How should you compare tills—why not start from the feature list?

Compare from your real busy-day flows and risk points, not the feature list. Fill each cell with verified, failed, or still unknown only. Once you have screened vendors, check the feature pages for what is and is not included.

Compare from your own real flows and risk points, not from the feature list; the method is in How to compare tills: not the feature list. On one check sheet, every cell gets one of three states only: verified in your store, failed, or still unknown. A verbal “we all have that” cannot be marked verified. After screening vendors, check capability boundaries on the feature pages.

Busy-day steps (opening a table, changing an order, sending to the kitchen, taking payment, splitting checks) must be run by your own shift on your menu and devices, without coaching. A sales demo is a clue, not evidence. Migration sample, rollback, support hours and exit files go on the same sheet too; any blank cell stays “still unknown.”
