On day one with a new shop or a new till, work through four blocks: 30 minutes before open, before the first ticket, before lunch and dinner rush, and closing. Each line is a “where to click” cue in the manager app or on the till; open the linked operations guides when you need the longer path.
Half an hour before doors open, the kitchen is already hot and the floor is setting tables. What you want to avoid is a guest at the counter while a till still shows pending approval, payment methods will not select, or the first ticket will not print. Still deciding whether to switch systems? Start from the Restaurant POS selection checklist. Core software use is shown as 0 HUF on the pricing page (hardware, acquiring, and third-party services are separate).
If a label on your screen differs from the names below, follow the console’s current menu.
30 minutes before open
- Machines sign in; terminals are recognised
With more than one till, open Parameters → LAN multi POS / terminal registration and clear anything stuck in pending approval. Approve or reject as needed; after approval the till claims its own credential. If the UI shows a one-time pairing code with a time limit, use it as displayed. Full path: LAN multi POS and terminal registration. - Items sell at the right price
Open Products: confirm today’s dishes, variants, sell prices, and tax rates are enabled. Do not rename dishes or change catalogue prices inside Inventory. Check tables and rooms under Areas. If you use public ordering entry points, review what Customer ordering currently shows—verify only what is on screen. Capability overview: Features. - Settlement master data is ready
Under System, check Currency list, Payment method list, Sales tax list, and Sales method list: cash / card (and other methods you use today) must be selectable, and tax symbols should match product forms. Packaging or service fees live under Surcharges. How to configure: Payment methods, tax rates, and surcharges. For fiscal device pairing and formal NTAK submission, use the console’s current menus—this checklist does not walk those steps. - Do not open empty on critical stock
For drinks or other tracked SKUs, skim Inventory → Stock; receive goods under Inbound when needed. Guide: Inventory, inbound, and sales detail.
Before the first ticket
- Run a short closed loop on a real till with your staff and your menu: open a table or take a number → ring one or two items → choose a payment method → confirm the receipt / ticket matches what your shop expects. A vendor demo floor alone, or a manager clicking through without the till, does not count as a real opening-day try.
- If the first ticket needs a member discount or stored value: open Members in the manager app, confirm the member and rule are saved, then select the member on the till. The members page does not recompute promotions onto past orders—see Members, discounts, stored value, and coupons.
- When the first ticket misbehaves: use Store orders to read the sales / refund timeline. That page is for audit, not for ringing items or finishing a full refund for the floor. Path: Orders and refunds.
Before lunch and dinner rush
- Every on-shift till is signed in. If a bar till is still pending approval, finish LAN multi POS / terminal registration before the queue forms.
- Re-check Payment method list and Surcharges once. Avoid toggling tax rates or payment switches in the busiest half hour; after a change, glance at a product form.
- Who may refund on the till, and whether a supervisor must confirm, follows Parameters → Cashier authorization as shown on screen. After the rush, reconcile with Store orders or Statistics reports, not by totalling only the rows on the current browser page.
- Still comparing vendors? Write what happened on a real service day back into your selection sheet—return to the Restaurant POS selection checklist.
Closing
- In Store orders, filter to today and read the sales / refund timeline; treat on-page totals or Statistics reports as the source for gross / refund / net. Net may be negative when you refund an older ticket today—that is normal.
- Spot-check one or two order details for payment and refund evidence; trust only the field marked as the current valid fiscal receipt. Do not hunt for a one-click formal re-file on the orders page.
- For tracked drinks or materials, compare Stock to the shelf; correct with Adjust or next-day Inbound per the inventory guide—not on the orders page.
- Note which labels, pending terminals, or payment gaps slowed you down, and feed them into tomorrow’s “30 minutes before open” list. Capability overview: Features. Public contact: About.
